Our work
Our thematic and programmatic focus areas
The Transnational Threats Department, in close co-operation with field operations and other executive structures, supports participating States in preventing and combating organized crime through a comprehensive approach that combines research to better understand criminal dynamics and justice challenges, concrete action to counter illicit financial flows and strengthen asset recovery, and prevention efforts to foster a culture of lawfulness and resilience to disrupt the recruitment of youth into criminal groups.
Across these areas, the Department prioritizes targeted capacity-building and technical assistance, while also working to strengthen regional dialogue, trust and co-operation, recognizing that organized crime transcends borders and requires equally transnational responses.
